Proper Copper Design Warranty & Guarantees Policy

Warranty & Guarantees Policy

Last updated: 7 January 2026

This Warranty & Guarantees Policy sets out the terms under which Proper Copper Design (“we”, “us”, or “our”) provides product warranties.

This policy applies to all products purchased directly from Proper Copper Design or through authorised resellers and should be read alongside our Terms & Conditions and Returns & Refunds Policy.

1. Our Commitment

Proper Copper Design products are handcrafted using premium copper and brass materials in our Brighton workshop. We take pride in our workmanship and stand behind the quality and durability of our products.

This warranty is provided in addition to your statutory consumer rights and does not affect those rights.

2. Warranty Periods

a) Showers & Taps

All taps and showers supplied by Proper Copper Design are covered by a 5-Year Warranty, commencing from the date of purchase.

This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal domestic use.

b) Other Products

Warranty periods for other products vary depending on product type and intended use.

  • The applicable warranty period is clearly stated on the individual product description page
  • Where no specific warranty period is stated, products are covered by a minimum 2-Year Warranty

The warranty period applicable to your product is the one shown on the product page at the time of purchase.

3. Warranty Eligibility

To be eligible for warranty coverage:

  • The product must have been purchased directly from Proper Copper Design or an authorised reseller
  • Proof of purchase (order confirmation, receipt, or invoice) must be provided
  • The product must have been installed and used in accordance with our care, installation, and maintenance guidance

This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.

4. What the Warranty Covers

This warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship that arise during the applicable warranty period under normal use.

Where a valid warranty claim is accepted, Proper Copper Design will, at its discretion:

  • Repair the product
  • Replace the product
  • Provide a comparable replacement where the original product is no longer available

5. What the Warranty Does Not Cover

The warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Natural patination, ageing, or colour variation of copper and brass
  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, or accidental damage
  • Improper installation or installation not in accordance with supplied guidance
  • Use of harsh, abrasive, acidic, or inappropriate cleaning products
  • Limescale build-up, water quality issues, or pressure-related damage
  • Frost damage or exposure to extreme environmental conditions
  • Unauthorised repairs, alterations, or modifications
  • Commercial or trade use unless expressly agreed in writing

Finishes & Coatings

Protective coatings, including lacquered and specialist finishes, are excluded from warranty coverage. Such finishes are inherently susceptible to wear, environmental exposure, and natural ageing and cannot be guaranteed.

6. Making a Warranty Claim

To initiate a warranty claim, please contact us at team@propercopperdesign.com within the applicable warranty period and provide:

  • Proof of purchase
  • A description of the issue
  • Clear photographs or videos showing the defect

We may request the product (or parts) to be returned for inspection. Instructions will be provided by our team.

7. Warranty Assessment & Resolution

  • All claims are assessed on a case-by-case basis
  • If the issue is confirmed as a covered defect, we will repair or replace the product as outlined above
  • If the product is no longer available, a suitable alternative of comparable specification will be offered

Return shipping for valid warranty claims will be covered by Proper Copper Design.

8. Limitation of Liability

Our liability under this warranty is strictly limited to the repair or replacement of the product.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Proper Copper Design shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential losses
  • Installation, removal, or reinstallation costs
  • Damage caused by misuse or improper installation

Nothing in this policy limits liability for matters that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

9. Trade & Commercial Use

Unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing, this warranty applies to domestic use only. Products supplied for commercial, hospitality, or trade use may be subject to different warranty terms.

10. Governing Law

This Warranty & Guarantees Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
