Our Glacius handcrafted outdoor shower delivers a powerful, invigorating flow, perfect for cooling off after swimming or enjoying a refreshing garden rinse.

Made from 35mm copper piping, it has a chunkier profile than our standard designs. A single ground-level inlet keeps the look clean and uncluttered, with a choice of valve handles for added personalisation.

Available in natural copper that patinates beautifully, satin lacquered to preserve its warm glow and shiny finish, or bespoke finishes on request.

Quick to install, it connects easily to a garden hose or mains water feed and is ideal for gardens, poolside areas, or any outdoor space where style and performance matter.

FAQS

Will copper or brass rust, go green, or require much maintenance outdoors?

No copper and brass do not rust like iron. Instead, they develop a natural patina over time, deepening in tone to rich browns and eventually, in some environments, a blue-green verdigris. This change is not damage, but rather a protective layer that makes these metals ideal for outdoor use.

If you love the character of ageing metal, there’s very little maintenance involved. But if you'd prefer to keep the original shine, we offer satin lacquered finishes to slow tarnishing, as well as maintenance kits with polish and cloths. Unlacquered copper typically begins to darken within a few weeks depending on climate and exposure.

Whether you want a sculptural, aged look or a polished centrepiece, the finish is up to you.

Can I install this shower myself, or do I need a plumber?

Yes our copper and brass showers are designed to be easy to install at home. Many customers simply connect them to a standard garden hose using the included universal hose connector, with no plumber required. For mains-fed or custom plumbing setups, we recommend using a plumber. Either way, every shower comes with all the fixings and clear step-by-step instructions to get you set up quickly.

Can I customise the shower to suit my space, style, or height?

Yes every Proper Copper shower can be tailored to you. We offer a range of customisations, including different shower-head styles, tap handle designs, and spout projections. Whether you’d like a larger rainfall head, a slimmer profile, or a longer reach, we can build it to your spec.

If you're taller or designing for a specific setup, we can also adjust the overall height or arm length. Looking for something truly unique? We welcome bespoke commissions and can create one-off pieces with your preferred finishes, features, or even engraved detailing.

Can I leave this shower outside all year round, including by the sea or in harsh weather?

Yes. All of our copper and brass cold outdoor showers are built for year-round, all-weather use, whether you’re installing by the sea, in the mountains, or in your back garden. These materials are naturally resistant to corrosion, salt air, and frost, making them ideal for harsh climates and coastal environments. Each shower includes a built-in drain-off valve to help prevent freezing and bursting in winter.

We handcraft every Proper Copper shower to order, typically within 7 - 15 working days. If you need your order sooner, just let us know we’ll do our best to prioritise it. We ship worldwide, and include any plumbing adaptors required for international setups.

Once dispatched, you’ll receive full tracking details so you can follow your delivery in real time.

If something doesn’t fit (like a hose, bracket, or plumbing thread), we’ll get the right part sent out, including NPT adaptors for US customers.

If you’re unsure how to install it, feeling stuck, or something isn’t quite right - just send us a photo or message. We’ll walk you through it or help your installer directly.

Is it safe, sustainable, and suitable for my outdoor space?

Yes, our cold-only showers are a low-impact, eco-friendly choice. They use no electricity or heating, and flow regulators are available for water conservation. It’s a practical, sustainable addition to your garden, spa, or retreat.

You don’t need a drain or soak-away, most customers install over gravel or stone for natural drainage, but you can add a custom drainage system if preferred.

All fixtures are safe, tested, and pressure-rated for reliable outdoor use.

What finish options are available, and how do they hold up outdoors?

Our showers are available in a range of weather-resistant finishes across both copper and brass. Each is carefully developed to suit outdoor use and enhance your space with character and craftsmanship.

Standard Finish:

Natural Copper or Brass (Brushed) - this is our only non-lacquered finish, designed to age naturally and form a rich, protective patina over time. It’s ideal for customers who love the evolving beauty of metal in the elements.
Satin Lacquered – coated with a clear satin lacquer to help preserve the polished finish

Custom Finishes (quoted upon request):
All of the following finishes are sealed with a clear satin lacquer to help maintain their original tone outdoors:
