We recently had the pleasure of creating a custom copper shelving unit for a client’s kitchen, collaborating with designer Sarah from Salt Design to bring this project to life. The aim was to manufacture a shelving unit that integrated polished copper with a glass shelf, creating a centrepiece that would fit perfectly within the customers kitchen.

To accommodate the shelving’s nearly three-meter span, the design features multiple supports, ensuring stability and a seamless fit within the client’s kitchen. Working with Sarah, we reviewed several initial sketches and refined the design to align with our manufacturing methods, factoring in the specific requirements for weight, strength, and scale. 

The long span required us to segment the unit into two connected sections, with each piece securely joined and supported by wall flanges, which reinforced the entire structure.

This project not only allowed us to partner with another talented designer but also offered a chance to develop a versatile shelving model that can be tailored to different spaces.
